Dr. Sukesh SukamaranDr. Sukesh Sukamaran (Section Chief)

Dr. Sukumaran is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the section of Pediatric Rheumatology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH).

Dr. Sukumaran received his medical degree from Thiruvananthapuram Medical College, Kerala University, India in 1996.  He then completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Thiruvananthapuram Medical College in 2002.  He completed his Pediatric residency from UMDNJ in the Children’s Regional Hospital at Cooper Medical Center in 2008.  He completed his pediatric rheumatology fellowship from USC at Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.

Following completion of his formal training, Dr. Sukumaran joined the staff at the University of Florida at the division of Rheumatology, Immunology, and Infectious Diseases until December 2014.  He moved to Arkansas in 2015 and joined UAMS at ACH.  Since then, he has practiced Pediatric Rheumatology at ACH.  He also attends regional clinics in Northwest Arkansas and participates in clinical research through the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group and also through University of Florida.

Dr. Sukamaran is board certified in Pediatrics and Pediatric Rheumatology.  Dr. Sukumaran is a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics, American College of Rheumatology (ACR) and European League against Rheumatism (EULAR).  He is also a member of Indian Association of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation and Rheumatology.

His interests include Juvenile Dermatomyositis and Pediatric Sjogren’s Syndrome. He is also interested in incorporating Yoga in pediatric patients with auto immune diseases.


Jordyn Hastings, APRNJordyn Hastings, APRN

Jordyn joined our team in August 2018! A native from Monticello, Arkansas, Jordyn earned her MNSc degree from UAMS and is a certified Acute Care Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) certified through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board.

Her interests include Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, Systemic Arthritis, Vasculitis, and Uveitis.

Jordyn is a member of NAPNAP and is currently in the process of becoming a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) as well as the American College of Rheumatology (ACR).

Jason Dare, M.D.Dr. Jason Dare (.22 FTE)

A native Arkansan, Dr. Dare graduated from Harding University with a B.S. in Biology in 1996.  He attended Medical School at UAMS, graduating in 2001.  Then he completed a residency in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at UAMS and Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) in 2005, serving as Chief Resident in his last year.  Finally, he completed a Rheumatology fellowship at UAMS and joined the Department of Pediatrics faculty in 2007.

Since then, Dr. Dare has practiced Pediatric Rheumatology at ACH.  He also attends regional clinics in Northwest Arkansas every other month.  He participates in clinical research through the Pediatric Rheumatology Collaborative Study Group.

Dr. Dare is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, the American College of Physicians, and the American College of Rheumatology.  he is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and the American Board of Internal Medicine, sub-board in Rheumatology.

Dr. Dare is active in the Arkansas Chapter of the Arthritis Foundation including serving on the Leadership Board and the Juvenile Arthritis (JA) Committee, volunteering for JA Family Days, and serving as Medical Director for Camp AcheAway.  He also serves on the Board of Directors for MedCamps of Arkansas.
