Fellowship Year 1

  • The first-year fellows follow a block clinical schedule format that consists of rotating between our two clinical sites combined with an educational curriculum and scholarly/research activities.
    • Arkansas Children’s Hospital (ACH) Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Clinic
    • University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Adult Allergy and Immunology Clinic
  • Fellows have their own weekly continuity clinic.
  • Fellows also participate in a variety of other attending-led clinics:
    • Adult Allergy and Immunology Clinic
    • Pediatric Allergy Clinic
    • Pediatric Immunology Clinic
    • Pediatric Multidisciplinary Eosinophilic Esophagitis Clinic
    • Pediatric Multidisciplinary Severe Asthma Clinic
    • Pediatric Procedure Clinic
  • Inpatient call is designated to 10 weeks during the first year.
  • First-year fellows also rotate through the ACH Special Immunology Laboratory during a four week combined laboratory, clinical and research month during the first half of the year.
  • First-year fellows are allotted up to 8 weeks of elective time.

 

Fellowship Year 2

  • Second-year fellows follow a schedule that includes clinical care, a scheduled didactic/educational curriculum, and research as outlined in collaboration with their research mentor.
  • Clinical responsibilities are limited to weekly continuity clinic and one adult and pediatric half-day clinic per week.
  • Inpatient call is designated to 4 weeks.
  • Second-year fellows are allotted up to 4 weeks of elective time.

 

Fellowship Year 3 (optional research year)

Third-year fellows follow a schedule outlined by their research mentor. Clinical experience during this year is individualized by the fellow and the program director.
