The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: I’m trying to read more of the classics, ‘the greats’ in literature particularly American authors, but not making much progress. Trying to consistently read the Bible more often as well.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: Recorded EPL, UEFA Champions league games, latest binge-worthy series on Netflix. Currently finishing House of Cards, Narcos is on deck. Cant wait for Stranger Things 2nd season
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): Not much on cable these days, maybe walking dead? For sure EPL, UEFA games
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Indie, folk, Americana, classic rock, alternative, hip hop, classical, instrumental, electro, some country
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: Dunno yet. But I imagine water activities will be on that list.
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and...: I was impressed with your people, how attendings-resident, resident-resident interactions were; I really enjoyed the place, culture, atmosphere of Little Rock; UAMS peds is a top notch facility, high acuity center with excellent staff where I’m confident I’ll be well trained for anything I wanna go into.

When I study medicine, I most enjoy learning about: That’s a tough question...I can’t think of a topic that I don’t enjoy. I would say I have come to appreciate medically complex patients ie physical/mental/social health disparities that drastically affect positive outcomes.
Things that make me unique are: I am a Veteran of the United States Navy. For the last five years, I have served as a Naval Officer and Physician. Thankful and blessed to have had the opportunity to work alongside our Sailors and Marines. My biggest supporter and husband, Ben, definitely gave of himself time and again to support my desire to serve in the military. He’s my favorite!!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Sing, do my PiYo (it’s amazing...), participate in community service, Bible study and worship, chase around and play with my cat, Jerry.
To get myself motivated I think of: I am accountable to be a good steward of this life. Being grounded in my faith with Christ and knowing He equips me for any day and for any situation gives plenty of motivation. When I don’t spend time seeking Him, reading His word, and prioritizing worship---it’s then that my motivation tank runs low.
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: Articles, my Bible/study material, history books, autobiographies. I recently finished an audiobook about Camp David---interesting for sure. That place has a remarkable history.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: I Can Only Imagine, The Help, Frozen...just to name a few.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): Most anything HGTV, Law and Order, and Animal Planet shows.
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Elevation Worship, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, Brooklyn Tabernacle Choir, 80s/90s Country and Rock.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: Markets and downtown local shops, Arkansas River Trail System, Old State House museum
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and...: The impression I had on my interview day of the leadership’s commitment to invest in us as individuals, both as residents and colleagues, stood out from every other program where I interviewed. I felt the program as a whole appreciating and advocating total person wellness and development. Residency years are formative years. I wanted to train at a wonderful children’s hospital and also learn how to balance other areas of my life outside of work ie home life, community involvement.
