When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: The complex interactions between the human body and different pathologies. And how we can alter and affect these interactions to help our patients!
Things that make me unique are: Although I grew up in the Midwest, I consider myself southern! I went to undergraduate school in Louisiana where I played division 1 baseball. This is also where I met my amazing wife! We love to be outside and spend time at the lake with our awesome dog, Lily! I continue to work on my relationship with Christ and walk with him through the life he has planned!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Workout or play sports with my friends, specifically baseball/softball and basketball. I enjoy spending time with my family and friends at Lake Ouachita and taking my dog, Lily, on walks/runs and to play.
To get myself motivated I think of: How lucky I am to have gotten where I am in life. This is an amazing opportunity that is all too often taken for granted.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: Either the Sandlot or any Will Smith movie.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): wife records all of the Real Housewives and Vanderpump Rules
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Any kind of music, but mostly Hip Hop or Country!
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: Take them to all of the cool restaurants Little Rock has to offer, or take them to Hot Springs!
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and...: As soon as I walked through the doors I knew the hospital was a special place, where we as physicians get the opportunity to change lives and have our lives changed by the people we work with and work to help.

When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: ANATOMY. I am a visual learner, so anatomy has always been the most fun for me to learn. I love how you can learn anatomy one way and the minute you change your perspective, it can seem completely foreign—even though it’s the same! I like challenging my mind to think in multiple dimensions. It’s even more amazing how much you can discover about musculoskeletal pathology just from a physical exam. It’s like a puzzle to me.
Things that make me unique are: My mom had her tubes tied in her twenties after she had my twin sisters but decided she wanted another kid when she was nearing her mid-thirties, so she met with a general surgeon about having her fallopian tubes reconnected. He had never attempted such a thing, but regardless he offered to try with no promises on whether the operation would be successful or not, and within a few months, my mom became pregnant! With me!!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Cook, eat (I’m such a foodie... I’ll eat anything for real), host dinner parties/game nights (I’m super competitive), snowboard (I’ve been going every year since 5th grade with my dad—so many of my favorite stories come from our ski trips), and work out (I especially love spin classes).
To get myself motivated I think of: How God has blessed me with the opportunity to make such a huge impact in others’ lives.
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: I typically don’t read for pleasure. If I’m reading, it’s to learn.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: The latest psychological thriller or horror film. When I was a kid though it was Sword in the Stone oddly enough.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): Survivor (lol are my husband and I the only ones who still watch this??) and Keeping Up With the Kardashians (my guilty pleasure... I’m not proud of it).
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Depends on my mood! I’ll listen to anything from Drake to Red Hot Chili Peppers to John Mayer to Eric Church.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: Pinnacle mountain followed by the newest local restaurant.
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and...: I’m obsessed with how tough and resilient kids are. It’s incredible how quickly they can heal— often times entirely! It’s truly mind-blowing. Also, my husband, who matched into OB/GYN at UAMS, and I wanted to stay in Arkansas close to our families, so staying here was a no-brainer!
