When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: I’m doing a residency in Medicine and Pediatrics. I really enjoy learning about transitional care of diseases from childhood.
Things that make me unique are: I love to travel and cook all kinds of cuisines! My family owns a beekeeping business (Big Belly Bee) and I help out in the bee yard – luckily I’ve never gotten stung!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Travel, read, watch historical documentaries, cook, watch too much Netflix/Game of Thrones
To get myself motivated I think of: Make a schedule and checklist
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: Historical fiction – favorites include Gone with the Wind, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn, The Help
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: Dramas and historical fiction – actually watched all the movies nominated for the Oscars this year!
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): Game of Thrones, Veep, John Oliver – plus The Office/Parks and Rec on Netflix
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: The Lumineers, The Black Keys, Beyonce, Adele
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: Local Lime, Boulevard Bistro, The Big Dam Bridge, and the Clinton Library
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and: there is something special about the people at ACH and Arkansans in general

When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: The different diseases that occur as a result of genetic mutations.
Things that make me unique are: I’m almost always smiling. My goal is always to try and make someone else’s day better. I’m a cup half full type of girl.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Cook, build furniture and go fishing (as long as I don’t have to bait the hook or take the fish off the hook)
To get myself motivated I think of: My friends and family that have supported me so much in my path to become a doctor!
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: Something that tries to describe the human condition. My current favorite is Dispatches from Pluto which tells the story of a British guy who moves to the area where I’m from. Harry Potter is also a safe bet too.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: 10 Things I Hate About You
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): Bones
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: A little bit of everything- I’m a huge Pandora fan and love mixing all of my stations to have a bunch of genres at once.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: Chuy’s! It’s a chain restaurant but I love their jalapeno ranch dip and their t-shirts! I’m so excited Little Rock has 2 of them!
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: I get to help treat all the unique diseases that affect children from all over the state of Arkansas.

When I study medicine, I most enjoy learning about: Pathophysiology and healthcare improvement. I have always been intrigued by disease mechanisms, the medical interventions that result in a healing process. Much more, I thoroughly enjoy learning about ways to provide best patient care and improve healthcare systems.
Things that make me unique are: My first name is 12 letters long and I am so blessed to get the best of both worlds. I spent my entire childhood and a significant portion of my adult life in West Africa. Now, I get to live in such a lovely city!
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: Cook, Bike, and Travel to explore culture n’ history. I really enjoy yoga classes with meditation sessions.
To get myself motivated I think of: My family and I am really inspired by Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: Maybe Sound of Music, Love Rosie, It really depends on my mood.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): This Is US, Grey’s Anatomy, Homeland and On my days off, Impact/Hard talk on BBC World News.
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: Pop, Contemporary Rock, Reggae. I also enjoy Coldplay, Maroon 5, Snow Patrol, Chris Tomlin, Lauren Diagle, Bob Marley.
When friends and family come visit me in Little Rock, I want to take them to: To the Arkansas River trail, it’s a gorgeous biking trail.
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: I couldn't have asked for a better program. The faculty, nurses and staff are so awesome! It’s a wonderful family that I am honored to be a part of!

When I study medicine, I most enjoying learning about: rheumatological conditions are definitely my favorite.
Things that make me unique are: throughout college I worked at Hobby Lobby in the framing department. So if you ever need some artwork framed, I could help you with that.
I’m not only a doctor, I also like to: rock climb, cook, and craft. After a DIY wedding, I’ve discovered my inner artist, and I’m always looking for the next craft I can try.
To get myself motivated I think of: how lucky I am to be a doctor in the United States. For real, I normally just listen to some Bruno Mars and dance, then I end up feeling pretty motivated.
The hours I spend warm and cozy with a book I’m reading: normally something fiction. I like murder mysteries and science fiction.
With popcorn in hand the movie I’m watching is: definitely a comedy. Laughing is my favorite.
Without a DVR on my cable box I’d miss (or I’m in front of the TV so I won’t miss): West World, Game of Thrones, Shameless, The New Girl, Gilmore Girls (a favorite past time). Also, I like to watch the Thunder play and OU Sooner football whenever I get a chance.
On my iPod, iPhone, iMac, iPad, etc. I listen to: everything! More recently I’ve been listening to Meagan Trainor, Dotan, Anberlin, Fall Out Boy, 90s pop, Disney Radio, Daft Punk… the list goes on and on. I’ve been called a walking iPod.
I chose the UAMS Pediatrics Residency Program because it’s wonderful and…: the residents were really sweet on my interview day, the facility is beautiful, the faculty are passionate about teaching, and I believe that my training at UAMS will open a lot of doors for me.
