$400 is provided annually to purchase books, journals, stethoscopes or to attend a medical conference. Educational funds are contingent upon a resident staying in good standing with the program and hospitals.
Membership to the ACH Fitness Center is available to all UAMS residents for $10 a month. A membership gives you access to two fitness facilities on campus.
Parking is provided at ACH and UAMS in reserved resident lots.
Medical, basic life, basic long-term disability and professional liability insurance coverage is provided to all residents. Dental, vision and spouse and dependant coverage is available at an additional charge.
Designated space furnished with computers, couches, TVs, video game consoles and sleep rooms are available for resident use while at ACH.
Meal cards in the amount of $100 are provided for residents’ use at ACH’s cafeteria. While on rotation at UAMS, meals are furnished on a per call basis. While on rotation at ACH, meals are also provided during all noon conferences.
Program pays for membership in the American Academy of Pediatrics, which provides residents with Pediatrics in Review and Red Book Online.

Residents are paid monthly by direct deposit on the last working day of the month. For 2017 – 2018, our interns earn $51,289, PGY-2 residents earn $51,497 and PGY-3 residents earn $53,195.
An iPad with installed medical software is provided.
A resident’s spouse and dependent children receive a 40% tuition discount for undergraduate training for institutions that are a part of the University of Arkansas system.
Three weeks of paid vacation are provided annually plus days off during the Christmas or New Year’s holiday.
